The Agile Organization
The structure for the Agile Enterprise is modular. It can be arranged and re-arranged, created, and destroyed as needed. Modularity, adaptability, and flexibility are inherent in the structure, and not a matter of periodic disruptions. The Agile Enterprise is never done; it is always in the process of becoming. Because the Agile Enterprise is constantly moving, shape-shifting, addressing incoming change, environmental challenges, and shifting internal dynamics, this structure is truly mutable.
The Agile Enterprise is characterized by strategic agility. Rather than crafting a strategic plan, and checking the actions off a list, the Agile Enterprise is constantly scanning its environment, bringing in new information, defining and anticipating its changing environment, and designing and executing strategy on a continuous basis. The strategy is never done; strategy is always in the state of becoming.
The Agile Enterprise must be populated by people that understand, and respond well, to a resilient culture. The resilient culture expects, anticipates and is comfortable with a dynamic environment. In an Agile Enterprise the workforce learns to “love change.”
A sample of the program for the Agile Enterprise is reflected in the PowerPoint presentation which can be seen here: Agile Enterprise Slideshow
